Overprotectiveness
The ultimate expression of pride, not love; it consists of wanting to protect another person so much that you end up erasing them. It is a kind of selfishness disguised as love.

The enemies of trust are, essentially, a bad temper, touchiness (taking offense is forbidden in true loving relationships), aggressiveness, sentimentality, possessiveness (or the “control tower”), and overprotectiveness.
In addition to what has already been mentioned, trauma can also result from the use of mistaken teaching methods, such as physical punishment, verbal aggression, threats, prohibitions, impositions, and aberrant protectionism. The latter, in particular, causes trauma related to insecurity and inability, because it keeps children from living the experiences they need in order to learn to function in a healthy way in their environment.
Protectionism is a deep-seated selfishness disguised as love.
